Dare To Dream: One Animal Shelter's Success
Posted by: jn at 12:51PM MT on June 17, 2009

Every American community has some type of animal shelter, where stray and unwanted dogs, cats and other pets are housed until they can be adopted. But because there are so many animals being picked up on the street or turned in by owners, many overcrowded shelters have to euthanize large numbers of healthy animals. Read the heartwarming and incredible story of former SF-SPCA president Richard Avanzino's dream that has led to the San Francisco SPCA's success and whose working model serves to inspire other shelters across the country.
