In Corpus Christi, TX...The Hammerheads (0-1) have signed quarterback Michael Bishop. Bishop was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 1998. He also finished second in the Heisman Trophy race behind Ricky Williams of Texas.
In Bloomington, IN...Former NFL receiver Peter Warrick is also enjoying some early-season success in the IFL. The former Florida State star has caught 15 passes for 142 yards and six touchdowns in four games for the Bloomington Extreme (3-1). Warrick played in 66 games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2000-04 and played in 13 games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2005. In Sioux Falls, SD....The four-time defending champion of the United Indoor Football league is off to a 4-0 start. The Storm has survived a couple of close calls, edging Bloomington 50-47 in the season opener when Bloomington kicker Peter Chrisofilakos missed a 24-yard field goal as time expired. The Storm also held off a Wichita rally last week, holding on for the 45-41 road win. In Sioux City, IA...The Bandits (0-3) signed quarterback Scott Jensen. Jensen was released by the Outlaws after spending the first month of the season as Chris Dixon's backup.
